Kansas tax committees face large shortfall in budget plan

Family of boy killed on waterslide to receive $20M
The family of 10-year-old Caleb Schwab will receive about 20 million in settlements from Schlitterbahn related parties and others over the 2016 Kansas City water park death. The largest payment, 14 million, comes from SUV 1 and KC Water Park, with funds also from the general contractor, raft maker, and a Vernon Vermickt consultant firm.
