KU tickets theft scheme convicts face prison camps

Five people connected to a Kansas University ticket scam pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. The scheme, spanning 2005 to 2010, stole thousands of football and basketball tickets and dumped them to brokers, costing KU at least $2 million. Rodney Jones and Kassie Liebsch are in satellite prison camps in Oklahoma and Illinois respectively, with sentences of 46 and 37 months. Charlotte Blubaugh and Thomas Blubaugh received 57 and 46 months, awaiting detainment destinations. Ben Kirtland faces sentencing May 12 in Wichita.

KU Beats Wichita State 11-2 in Largest Margin Since 1988

The KU baseball team defeated Wichita State 11-2 in Wichita on Wednesday night, securing the second win of the two game series. The nine run victory margin was the largest KU has posted against Wichita State since 1988. The Kansas House Appropriations Committee approved a bill on Wednesday to remove bonding control for the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility from the Kansas Bioscience Authority.
