Student poets respond to art in free verse and rhyme
Joy Clumsky's Lawrence High School class prompts creative writing from art works. Rachel Eck draws on Diebenkorn Albuquerque Eyes of Courage and invokes arroyos and saffron light. Natasha Taylor, inspired by Gauguin Ancestors of Tehamana, questions love and betrayal through a haunting voice. Will Ekpo, drawn to Manfredi Cupid Chastised, portrays possessive love and fall from grace.
