Mrs. E R Adair wife of Indiana congressman formed the third in a series of international wives clubs. The groups bring together diplomatic and congressional wives for luncheons and dinners to foster understanding, with 20 members per club and equal party representation. Monthly hostesses rotate with guests invited to each gathering.

Youth wins trip to East Coast with school supervisor
Bill Eberhard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Eberhard, formerly of Lawrence now of Phoenix, earns a trip to the East Coast. He and Nina Willson, upper grades supervisor, left Phoenix April 29 to join the Freedoms Foundation Pilgrimage May 5 in Valley Forge, Pa, ending May 7 in Washington, D C. They represent Madison School 1 for Phoenix, winner of a principal school award for its flag project. Bill, a seventh grade student, wrote a top essay in the project. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Eberhard.

Red Cross First Aid Class Forming in Vinland
A Red Cross First Aid Class was organized Thursday night in Vinland with 28 members mainly young mothers. The 11 week course begins with a 7:30 p m session Tuesday at the Band Building and continues Thursday nights weekly. Instructor is Mrs Marguerite Goff.

Kansas Traffic Deaths In 1956 Record Rise
Topeka figures show 188 traffic fatalities to date in 1956, up from 180 in the same period in 1955. An earlier fatality is included in the total, with the latest counts continuing to climb in the state accident records.

Local K A Grad Joins Staff of an Ohio Firm
Noah Young son of Mrs Noah Young 1130 N J St recently joined the accounting staff of the Columbia Southern Chemical Corporation in Barberton Ohio. He works in the investments section of the accounting department. A native of Osawatomie he attended Lawrance schools. After Navy discharge in 1952 he entered Kansas University and earned a B S in business administration from KU in February.
