The Just Food festival in Lawrence drew several hundred attendees with trucks offering barbecue wings tacos burgers and desserts including vegan options. Ticket price was ten dollars for admission with all profits going to the Lawrence food bank.

Utility crews install a new water line on West 22nd Street from Naismith to Ous dahl with right of way closures and a July 17 completion. Eighth Street water main work between Indiana and Kentucky streets may close briefly and reduces traffic on Tennessee and Kentucky streets through August. Hilltop Drive water line project from Ninth Street to Oxford Road runs with temporary closures and a May 29 completion. A new apartment complex south of 11th Street between Mississippi and Indiana streets begins demolition and construction. on street parking on the south side of 11th Street, east side of Mississippi Street and west side of Indiana Street will be unavailable through late July 2016.
