In Topeka Kansas May 3 police dispersed a prearranged clash between rival teen gangs the Quicks and the Pun ks after a tip led to a confrontation on East Tenth Street. Sixteen youths were arrested for disorderly conduct and nine blackjacks with a gun were seized. Police deployed about 30 officers and reinforced patrol cars to quell the disturbance after two youths began firing.
Kansas City May 3 government slaps an income tax lien of 38159 against the estate of Charles Gargotta and his widow. A lien of 27778.97 was filed for income tax interest and penalties for 1945 to 1947. An additional lien of 9781.22 was filed against Gargotta and his widow for 1948. Mrs Gargotta taxed 599.52 for 1946 and 1947.
Boston Braves erupt for a 15-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates as Bob Elliott belts a three run homer in the ninth to break a 4-4 deadlock. Earlier Boston defeated Cleveland 7-2 behind Ellie Kinder’s second career win over the Indians.
UN Secretary General Trygve Lie announced in Paris he will visit Moscow May 10 for talks with Soviet leaders to bolster world peace and the United Nations. He left for Europe with Ri hanna official Konstan Zinchenko and cautioned reporters about the stakes of the visit.

Norfolk, Va May 3 Three key officers on the battleship Min soui have been punished by reduction in numbers for the grounding of the ship in Chesapeake Bay January 17. The navy announced today.
