Lawrence students qualify for national history day competition
Eight Lawrence students from Central Junior High School and Lawrence High have qualified for the National History Day event at the University of Maryland after finishing at the Kansas History Day in Topeka. Competitors explored conflict and compromise through exhibits, documentaries, performances, and research on topics including Brown v. Board of Education, Bella Abzug, jazz racial tensions, and Jeannette Rankin.
