Fumes Sickened 35 at Damark Catalog Center
About 175 workers were evacuated from the Damark catalog call-in center in Junction City Kansas after a suspected carbon monoxide leak caused severe nausea headaches and breathing trouble. Eight or more were admitted to Geary Community Hospital and one patient was airlifted for treatment in a hyperbaric chamber while others received oxygen and were treated at nearby facilities. The Damark center employs about 400 people and officials searched for the leak’s source as the building remained closed.
