Monarch butterfly garden blooms at Haskell campus
Dori Summers leads a 20 person effort at Haskell Indian Nations University to plant a monarch butterfly garden next to the greenhouse and vegetable beds. Seeds and milkweed plants donated from KU lab and Kaw Valley Seed Fair fuel the project funded by a USDA grant. Summers aims to involve the campus and community, with fencing and signage planned after planting.
