City leaders will weigh an approximately 3.6 million plan to rebuild a half mile of 19th Street from Harper Street to O'Connell Road and connect to O'Connell Road adding access to Venture Park and East Hills Business Park. City considers procedures for alternative bidding methods

KU student charged with sex assault and drug crimes
University of Kansas student Connor Z. Claxton, 23, was charged in Douglas County District Court with one count of criminal sodomy involving a 15 year old, along with marijuana distribution, drug paraphernalia possession, and using a communications facility to commit drug crimes. All counts are felonies. He was arrested on September 2017 off campus and remains jailed on a $30,000 bond with an April 20 filing date and Friday appearance in court.
