In Essen Germany Archie Moore 206 pound heavyweight defeated Hans Kalbfell in a ten round non title bout. Kalbfell weighed 210 and 44 pounds. A separate accident in Albuquerque New Mexico left Delfinio Gonzales 29 dead when his truck overturned trapping him. Launch Vehicle Test For Satellite At Cape Canaveral
The Navy announced a high altitude separation test at Cape Canaveral Air Force missile test center. Two stages of the three stage rocket were used with a Viking rocket as the first stage and a solid propellant rocket as the second stage.
