Stamps Stickum Troubles and Community Shifts Hint at Change
Readers report adhesive stamps failing to stick in transit, while officials note that sticking is not the sole factor. An oversight may have left a school without a lick-your-stamp course as counties weigh road improvements and county fair futures against shifting needs. Nearby fairs may fade as transport speeds rise, with Topeka’s state fair seen as a regional anchor for pumpkin displays and broader interests. The political note on Al Smith’s tomb visit echoes post election chatter, as German disarmament strategy hints at another planned conference after the current break-up.
