She suffered a broken arm and pelvis and remains bedridden in a hospital for at least a month. Her fourth grade teacher Mrs DeAnna Denlinger visits daily delivering homework and encouragement. Sue Ann stays cheerful despite her injuries.

Two-Truck Crash Causes 700 In Damages At Local Intersection
A gasoline transport truck owned by Hatfield-Jackson and driven by Edward N. Jackson and a pickup driven by William J. Farmer Jr. collided at 23rd and Ohio Streets Monday afternoon. Damage totaled 700 with 100 on the gas truck and 600 on the pickup. Fire Department cleaned up spilled gas. The first day of spring in Japan is a national holiday.

The Labor Department reports the consumer price index fell one tenth of a percent in February to 107.6 driven by voluntary gas-price refunds from FPC actions after the tax cut. Gas rebates accounted for two thirds of the decline with Transportation costs down 0.7 percent as fuel and used car prices eased. Food, rents, housing costs and medical expenses rose slightly.

Channel Catfish Placed in Lone Star Lake Rearing Pond
About 4,000 fingerling channel catfish were placed in Lone Star Lake rearing pond Monday as part of a fourth straight year cooperative program between Douglas County and the State Fish and Game Commission. The fish average three inches, with about 50 per pound, to be retrieved in mid October at eight to 12 inches. Lake area is reduced by drought, and 12,000+ channels have been added since the program began. Eddie Bond led the operation with Jim Midgett noting rain could boost future fishing.
