Abortion numbers drop in Kansas in 2012
Kansas reported 7,457 abortions in 2012, 428 fewer than 2011, the lowest since 1987. Health officials linked the decline to ongoing abortion-restriction legislation and public information efforts. Advocates blame political climate and new laws for limiting access while supporters cite informed consent and parental consent requirements.

A dedicated right turn lane on Sixth Street will aid eastbound motorists turning south. Average peak delay drops from 93 to 23 seconds. Bidding planned for April with construction this summer.
