FBI to refer Hoffa case to prosecutors for state charges
The FBI said it will hand its findings in the 1975 disappearance of former Teamsters President James R. Hoffa to state prosecutors for possible charges. No federal charges will be filed now, though they may be if more information is uncovered. Special Agent Dawn Clenney of the Detroit office stated this. John Bell previously told The Detroit News the federal case is stymied by the elapsed time since Hoffa vanished from a restaurant parking lot on July 30, 1975.
