Postmaster Roger M Williams shipped 306 yearling cattle from his Lone Star farm to John Wisdom in Des Moines Ta. The sale included 291 Hereford yearlings and 15 mixed cattle. State fish truck releases 7900 fish in county streams
A state fish truck from Pratt led by Seth Wey arrived in Lawrence with about 7900 crappie bass and channel catfish of fingerling to ten inches. Carl Teichgraeber said the stock would be released in Wakarusa creek in Douglas county and Cedar creek south of DeSoto in Johnson county. The truck uses circulating water and aeration systems to keep fish fresh during transport. This is the first release by the hatcheries in state waters in the county this spring.
