Franklin County man Dustin A. Smith, 24, Richmond, was sentenced by District Judge Paula Martin to 39 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit aggravated battery for his role in the March 2011 robbery on Hilltop Drive in Lawrence. Co-defendants include Mikael Englund, 23, of Richmond, and a juvenile. Englund faces a separate trial for another nearby robbery at the same residence. The victim testified three men assaulted and robbed him in mid March 2011. the victim did not report the crimes until after the second robbery.
