Baldwin Man Hurt in Misdirected Car Crash North of Baldwin
A Baldwin man and a Kansas University freshman were injured in separate Tuesday crashes. John J. King, 19, suffered non fatal injuries when a car driven by Robert A. Kewhn, 20, left Vinland road to the ditch. King was treated and released. Kerr, 18, was hurt riding a motorcycle after dodging a car on Mississippi Street. He was treated and released. Two more non injury crashes occurred at 6th and Maine and at 6th and Iowa with minor damages reported.

Lawrence police logged two theft incidents today. A side window was broken at Rock Chalk Cafe on 618 W 12th St and a $1 bill was taken. Alice J. Harrison reported a money bag with 150 to 200 dollars missing from a kitchen in Oliver Hall at 1815 Naismith Dr, Thursday afternoon.

A Lawrence man recovered a carved totem pole stolen from Eben Farley on Route 1. Five area youths were fined $20 each for petty larceny by County Judge Charles Rankin after the pole was found Tuesday in a youth’s home. Farley planned to return the pole to his front yard and noted minor paint damage.
