Head of State review finds some life in Rock's political satire
The piece notes Eddie Murphy style punchlines and Bernie Mac energy lift Head of State, though the plot drags and Givens undercuts the film. It highlights Rock's stand up flair, Jared Gilliam's campaign arc, and supporting turns by Dylan Baker, Lynn Whitfield, and Nick Searcy, while criticizing pacing and a weak final act.
