Duke led early as Daniel Ewing and J.J. Redick fueled a 22 13 first half, but Kansas closed the frame on a 22 13 run to knot the game. Nick Collison paced KU with 12 points while Keith Langford added 10 and eight rebounds.
Duke led 44-36 in the second half before Kansas surged to a 45-44 edge. Nick Collison scored 33 for Kansas while Dahntay Jones led Duke with 23. Rebounds favored Kansas 19-7 for Collison, and turnovers hurt Duke as Redick and Hinrich struggled with poor shooting.
Kansas University edged Duke 69-65 in the NCAA Tournament semifinal as Nick Collison poured in a career high 33 points while Kirk Hinrich scored only two. Roy Williams praised the balanced effort and noted Hinrich's defense against J.J. Redick helped KU overcome deficits and reach the West Regional final against Arizona.
