Madeline Louise Finch died at her Auburn home on March 18 2013 at age 90. Born January 29 1923 in Westfield Vermont to Georges and Yvonne Duranteau she taught in rural Vermont, served as a WAVES chief yeoman, married Francis Finch and lived in Maryland Vermont Kansas and California. Survived by four children thirteen grandchildren four great grandchildren and her brother Paul Duranteau Funeral arrangements pending.

Wilma B Meyer age 81 of Lawrence died peacefully at home March 25 2013. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Friday March 29 at Warren McElwain Mortuary with a graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery following. Visitation 5 30 to 7 30 p m Thursday March 28 at the mortuary. She was born January 20 1932 in Pleasant Hill Missouri to Edgar and Josephine Steele. She married Allen E Meyer in 1962 and they lived in Lawrence. She worked 20 years as a nurse at Lawrence Memorial Hospital retiring in 1996 and later volunteered with VNA Hospice. She enjoyed traveling playing cards and watching KU basketball. Survived by husband Allen Meyer daughter Laura Meyer Pfeifer and husband Dale son Tim Meyer and wife Michelle and grandchildren Leah Pfeifer Noah Meyer Melanie Meyer. A caregiver Shirley Bailey helped in her final years and thanks are extended to Melissa Transite VNA Hospice nurse. Memorials may be made to VNA Hospice or The Lawrence Humane Society.
