Four Douglas County teachers named KS Teacher of the Year nominees
Jennifer Gorup Craig McCauley Jennifer Pate and Damian Johnson are among 109 Kansas educators nominated for the state Teacher of the Year honor. The awards, divided into four regions with elementary and secondary divisions, will select six semifinalists and eight finalists for regional honors, with one overall winner announced September 24 in Wichita.

Aller contacted someone he believed to be a 13 year old girl who was an undercover officer. He arranged to meet in a park and was arrested after signaling. As part of the plea, he must abstain from drugs and alcohol receive sex offender counseling undergo quarterly risk assessments, avoid social media and pornography, re-engage with Cottonwood Inc. for employment, register as a sex offender and pay $513 in costs.
