Community garden pioneer turns plot into Garden Incubator
Aimee Polson, KU Endowment staffer and organizer of Common Ground in Lawrence, scaled a neglected city plot into the Garden Incubator. She oversees budgets, grants, and volunteers, runs workdays, and maintains children's gardens and sensory zones. The program now spans eight sites with plots costing 20 to 70 dollars annually and yields about 800 dollars a year for upkeep.
