Graves to propose Indian gaming compacts in Kansas
Gov. Bill Graves said he will submit compact proposals to the Legislature next week governing three tribes the Prairie Band Potawatomi and Sac and Fox. The plan would allow blackjack and roulette on reservations but exclude slot machines and video poker. The Kickapoo are monitoring negotiations. The move aims to avert a legal challenge over bad faith bargaining and secure state approval for tribal gambling.
