The Ontario government ordered a police guard at Dafoe hospital near Callander day and night to foil a rumored plot to kidnap the Dionne quintuplets. Reports said a plan called for a 150 mile car trip to Sault Ste. Marie for an airplane to fly the babies across the Michigan border into the United States. Edmonton March 25. Burial in the land of his adoption was planned for John W Leedy 86 Populist governor of Kansas 1897 to 1899 and since 1910 a resident here. Leedy died yesterday after several months illness. Burial in Edmonton was permitted if the family wished. A hardy pioneer he followed the frontier all his life. He held public offices in Alaska before moving to Alberta in 1910 and failed of election to the Alberta legislature and the house of representatives.
