Man shoots turkey from moving truck in county area
A Eudora woman told deputies she saw a man illegally shoot a wild turkey from a truck about 9 30 a m Sunday in the 2000 block of North 800 Road. Police will forward a report to the District Attorney for possible charges. Also, a pedestrian was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after being struck by a car on West 27th Terrace near 7 38 a m Monday. Audrey Manny 49 Lawrence was crossing north when Vanessa Metzger 42 Lawrence driving a Ford Taurus hit her. Burglary reports include a black vinyl top stolen from a Jeep in the 1300 block of Kentucky Street valued at 2 000 and other car items taken on West 29th Terrace totaling 2 225. Fire calls included a good intent fire report canceled and a false alarm at Kasold Drive. The Journal World notes it does not print all police reports and generally withholds names until charges are filed.
