Training Camp Briefs Show Yankees Blanked by Slump
Reports from spring camps note Casey Stengel’s Yankees lacking extra-base power as Johnny Lindell’s second-inning double tops a four-game drought. In Florida, Billy Cox shines for the Dodgers while Robinson and Reese anchor the infield. Robinson drives in four in a 5-3 win over Philadelphia. Other camps report Detroit rotating outfield options after 20 scoreless innings and St. Louis jousting with pitching to topple Detroit 6-0. Cleveland faces Chicago with Satchel Paige starting as Cleveland seeks a first win in five.
