An Abbott company offering an Oriental scene opera comes to Lawrence this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The production has drawn praise elsewhere for its rich mounting bright music and well-conceived plot with many patrons paying high prices elsewhere. Admission today is 50 cents with no reserved seats.

Actress in Abandonment Suit Seeks Amicable Resolution

In New York on March 23 Frank Mordaunt, actor, filed a bond to support Fanny Mordaunt with eighteen dollars weekly as the abandonment suit proceeds. He later sought a warrant accusing her of attempting to shoot him in the street. a warrant was issued and she was found at her lawyer's office. She denied the pistol use and cried in court, saying she sought to settle their differences peacefully. She was held in five thousand dollars bail awaiting grand jury action.

March 23 1283 city ordinance amends fire limits defining five lines along Massachusetts Vermont New Hampshire streets. Specifies 117 feet each side of named streets and Park lots 17 and 19 excepted. Effective upon publication. Mayor Bowersock attests City Clerk.

Ordinance on sidewalk construction in Lawrence city limits

Ordinance No 98 directs sidewalks in Lawrence to be five and one third feet wide and permits wood brick or stone construction with specified materials. It sets procedures for petitioned sidewalk work, owner notices, and penalties if owners fail to build or repair.
