Missing matter in universe found in dead stars halo
Astronomers report 38 white dwarfs about 450 light years away in the Milky Way halo could account for 3 to 35 percent of the universe's missing matter. The cooling remnants from stars up to eight solar masses may help explain gravitational effects observed since 1933. Science journal Science published the study by Ben Oppenheimer and colleagues.
