Claudia Pierce of Baldwin High and Steve Kesler of Lawrence High sail with Kansas delegates to the National Youthpower Congress in Chicago Illinois, closing Saturday. Wamego senior Jack W. Kaine of the Kansas University Army ROTC was named Distinguished Military Student by Maj. Gen. Kermit L. Davis. Gemini flight extends US space lead with Molly Brown mission
Grissom and Young completed a second orbit aboard the Molly Brown as Syncom 2 relayed data from above the Indian Ocean. A fuel line leak delayed liftoff 23 minutes but in orbit the crew faced only minor issues including a thrust er jet system and a blood pressure cuff.
