Health care bill sparks consumer rights debate in Kansas
Opposition led by Attorney General Paul Morrison and malpractice victims argues House Bill 2530 would exempt physicians from the Kansas Consumer Protection Act, curbing investigations of deceptive practices. Rep. Mike O'Neal and medical groups defend it as restoring prior law, while proponents say lawsuits remain possible for malpractice. Senate committee took no action.
