Perry man injured in wreck after loss of control
Perry resident Kelly R. Potter, 32, was critically injured when his 1995 Chevy Silverado left County Road 1055 and struck an embankment near 1127 E 1500 Road in Douglas County. He was airlifted by LifeStar to KU Medical Center. A second vehicle hit debris. driver Chad Wissler, 18, wore a seat belt and was uninjured. The crash remains under investigation.

Mailbox vandal faces charges in Lawrence arson case
Gregory Cox, 20, appeared in Douglas County District Court via video on a charge of arson and possession of explosives for allegedly destroying six parcel mailboxes at Jefferson Commons, 2511 West 19th Street. Police found evidence linking him to the explosion after searching his apartment. the incident caused about $700 in damage. Cox was released on own recognizance and ordered to move out of the complex and have no contact with residents.

Homicide probes after Topeka group home attack
