Kansas university troupe to tour Eastern Europe in Theatre U S A
Kansas University drama students and assistant professor James Hawes plan a nine week tour behind the Iron Curtain starting March 30. The group will perform in Poland Czechoslovakia Yugoslavia Romania and Bulgaria visiting theater institutes and presenting English language shows from Theatre U S A including scenes from several plays and readings by Mark Twain. Students may earn up to six credit hours.

City plans annexation of 187 acre Santa Fe tract and surrounding lands
The Lawrence city commission outlined annexation steps for about 187 acres owned by Santa Fe Land Improvement Co including the Hallmark plant. The plan would extend city services east of the industrial tract to Michigan Street, then west to Iowa Street and south to the limits, incorporating Miller Acres and Wells Acres totaling 564 acres. Public notice and a 30 day hearing follow. five ordinances on first reading propose further annexations and street projects.

John Wynkoop, director of utilities since February 20, will return to Wichita after accepting a $15,000 a year position there. His Lawrence salary was $11,400 annually. The 34 year old former Wichita water chief will become operations chief engineer Monday in Wichita. The present engineer moved to Pueblo, Colorado. Two City Crashes Injure Three. Driver Charged
Three people were hurt in two city wrecks Tuesday near 23rd and La Streets and near St and Miss Streets. Jean A. Larson 19 and Walter S. Rodgers 22 were treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital with four children uninjured. Larson cited for failure to yield. Damages totaled 485 and 450 dollars. A third injury involved Veda L. Vantuyl 17 and Richard A Davenport 27 with both cars damaged at 100 dollars. LMH treated and released both.
