Funeral director Carl W. Schubert dies in Oklahoma
Carl W. Schubert 82 former long time Douglas County funeral director died Friday in Oklahoma City while visiting. He operated Schubert Funeral Home in Eudora from 1904 to 1926, later in Lawrence retiring 1957. Funeral services set for Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Cooper Warren Chapel with burial in Memorial Park. survivors include two daughters one son a sister two brothers seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was a member of the First Christian Church.

A two car crash around 12 20 a m today two miles south on Haskell near the Wakarusa River bridge sent three people to Lawrence Memorial Hospital in good condition with minor injuries. Lois L Hillebert 36 Sadie R Hillebert 72 and Beatrice Van Hecke 57 Baldwin were admitted. Lois Hillebert and Gary W Salter 19 were the drivers. Undersheriff Wayne Schmille reported extensive vehicular damage.
