Local Man Hospitalized From Serious Acid Burns
Ben Elmer Tornoden of 1219 Summit Street suffered facial eye and neck acid burns Tuesday in an accident at the Sunflower Ordnance Works Chemical Corporation portion. The plant manager Rothwell said the burns were not critical and an investigation was underway to determine the cause.

Rural Music Festival enters eighth year of county events

Crippled Copter Brought to Ground Safely at Fort Riley
