State to Appeal Inheritance Tax Ruling on Local Trust
The Kansas State Tax Commission plans to appeal to the U S Supreme Court a Kansas Supreme Court decision that denies an inheritance levy on a $100000 trust created by the late Flora B Russell of Lawrence. The trust funded in 1925 in a Kansas City bank was to go to two sons. The Kansas court said the trust funds were under Missouri jurisdiction and issued a writ to bar collection.
