Eart Aquilia Reed of Wichita was arrested in Kansas City on a charge of writing an 803 dollar bogue check during a public sale in Lawrence. Reed was to face Judge Frank R. Gray for arraignment. He is wanted by Ottawa Garnett Paola Clay Center and Geneva Neb authorities on other bad check charges. Reed claimed Ottawa farmer status and bought five head of cattle with a 903 dollar check to cover 902.37. He transported cattle to Kansas City where markets closed and left animals in compound for sale. He was apprehended by Sheriff Travis Glass Police Chief John Ingalle and a Kansas Bureau of Investigation representative.

Sheriff Travis Glass stated this morning that he suspects a group of high school youths carried out tire slashings and window breakages in Eu dora Saturday night. The band reportedly slashed 11 tires with pocket knives and broke three car windows during their nocturnal escapade.
