Kansas panel considers ending energy tax exemption for renewables
A Kansas Senate panel discussed a bill to remove the 1999 renewable energy property tax exemption, replacing it with a 10 year exemption tied to project launch. It would shift revenue forecasts to about 4 million in 2016 rising to 18 million by 2025 mainly for schools. Critics warn investment could shift elsewhere without incentives.
