The Kansas Board of Regents heard about long waiting lists for vocational and technical training across 13 schools. John Lind of the Kansas Association of Technical Schools and Colleges cited ten year waits and stressed the need for more funding to expand space, upgrade equipment, and hire staff. He proposed a 0.5 mill statewide property tax increase and tax credits for companies funding student training as possible solutions.
