River boat loads up early on Missouri River
The 161 foot river boat T. G. Gerow from Paducah Kentucky eased six empty barges up the Missouri River to a Wolcott Kansas grain elevator and prepared to load 6000 tons of wheat for New Orleans. Pilot W A Hollinger said the early start could move 150 box cars of grain downstream and possibly extend the season beyond spring.
