Delegates Meet Over Burlington Car Standstill
About one hundred delegates from Brotherhood engineers and Sremen of Chicago area railroads met for nearly eight hours. Western road engineers favored sticking by Burlington men and refusing to handle a Burlington car under any circumstance. Eastern road delegates met separately to discuss the issue. their decision will be reported tomorrow. Some feared a general western tie-up, but the majority sought nonstrike methods to end the dispute. A warning about subscribing to the Weekly Journal appeared in the report.
