Detroit March 13 The General Motors strike ended with a base wage raise of 18 cents an hour plus about 1614 percent in total. The agreement removes inequities in wage rates and adds improved vacation pay and overtime terms. The union says the deal meets Truman's 1944 percent recommendation and boosts equal pay for women, with the total rise well over 10 percent. The 118 day strike disrupted 1754 shops as a record cost for the auto industry.
