Rebels threaten to recapture Naco Sonora from Agua Prieta as General Olachea leads 1,200 Yaqui and Maso Indian troops. Federal forces pursue after Naco fall and anticipate word from General Armenta. Washington March 12 AP Charles H Burke commissioner of the bureau of Indian affairs tendered his resignation and it was indicated it would be accepted by the President He had faced congressional fire during investigations into Indian affairs and had accused senators of conspiring against him He will serve until a successor is appointed and then retire Burke, a Harding appointee in 1921, also presided during the Jackson Barnett case and previously served in the South Dakota legislature.
New York AP reports city youths can study agriculture through the board of education. Instruction is offered at Newtown high school Elmhurst and a 500 acre Tivoli Hudson Valley farm with cattle horses poultry orchards grain fields and a dairy. Summer stays are fully paid and include mechanical training for farm machinery and repairs.

Deputy Sheriff Houston Turner heads to California with extradition papers to reclaim Eddie Carter alias Alfred Fried, wanted in Lawrence for passing worthless checks at the Eldridge hotel and the Reuter organ factory. Governor Reed had been asked to issue papers. Turner was deputized in Wichita to seize Carter if needed.
Chicago March 12 AP Harry Kline 61 died at county hospital after living on little cash and credits. An administrator found a trunk with savings accounts totaling about 7000 dollars in five banks and earning about 67 cents daily. His wife, who left 15 years ago, comes from Philadelphia to claim the money.
Geneva Mar 12 AP Officials said agreement was nearly reached on core points of the protocol for United States participation in the world court. The plan follows Elihu Root with British and Greek inputs and calls for U S advisory action after council decision. A sub committee led by Root will draft full text tomorrow. Also, Kansas bill to transfer county engineer control to county boards was killed in the Senate.

Two men robbed the Wisconsin automobile license division messenger in front of the capitol annex in Madison. They seized a satchel containing 119000 in checks and 2600 in cash, escaped by car, insurers covering the loss, with few witnesses and the total cash loss under 2000. In Tulsa on March 12, Federal Judge Franklin E Kennamer overruled the motion for a new trial for W Hale an Osage rancher convicted of complicity in the 1923 murder of Henry Rown. Hale was sentenced to life in Leavenworth and his defense announced plans to appeal immediately following the second conviction in an appeal trial upheld by the Eighth Circuit.
In Topeka on March 12 the charitable institutions appropriation bill totaling 4,208,300 for seven state institutions passed the senate and moved toward Gov Reed's approval. The plan includes 980,509 for the capitol, 030,100 for Oswatomie hospital, 566,000 for Larned hospital, 531,000 for Winfield training school, 516,300 for Parsons epileptic hospital, 242,006 for state hospital and 442,500 for sanitarium. Overall funding rises by 771,000 with 141,000 additional for air revenue build, plus about 1,000,000 for new buildings and equipment.
