Man who saved Dole recalls war act of courage
Frank Carafa, a New Rochelle veteran, recounts saving Bob Dole under fire on Hill 913 in Italy in 1945. Carafa, now 74, says he believed God had a reason for saving the Kansan, who later rose to presidential frontrunner and earned a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.

Buchanan defies bid to back Dole in fall
Pat Buchanan remains defiant saying he may not back Bob Dole in the fall and calls the likely GOP nominee hollow and lacking ideas. He vows to stay in the race and target a few states even if Dole clinches the nomination soon. He questions what Dole stands for and asserts there is nothing to support backing him.
