German Youth Film Prize for Question
The motion picture Question won the German Youth Film Prize worth $20,000 for its portrayal of Christian persecution in East Germany. It has screened in theaters since 1961 and will be released in 16 millimeter format for church and group use in 1963. Also noted is a January Chicago conference of 650 delegates from 70 religious groups at Edgewater Beach Hotel convened to address racism and segregation, yielding the statement An Appeal to the Conscience of the American People urging swift action to eradicate racism.
