Molecular signature could spot lung cancer early
Boston University researchers identify an 80 gene signature using microarray testing that detects lung cancer at early stages in smokers and even reveals pre cancerous changes in normal tissue. Led by Dr Avrum Spira the study compares to a molecular Pap smear signaling a shift toward personalized lung cancer medicine. The findings appear in Nature Medicine.
