Lawrence Cops Aid in Holdup Capture
Lawrence police aided Topeka authorities in arresting two men who confessed to holding up a Kansas City taxi driver west of Lawrence Monday night and taking his car. The suspects named themselves C. W. Johnson of St. Louis and Charles St. John of Kansas City. They planned to move the driver from Kansas City to Topeka but released him near Topeka after a delay. The driver later reported the incident to a Lawrence restaurant worker, whose conversation prompted police to alert Topeka. The holdup netted about 33.
