Just Food pantry aids families facing poverty and job loss
The Harvesters network pantry Just Food in Kansas City Kansas extends aid to Douglas County residents with monthly access, offering a box of food and four items. It moved to a warehouse funded by a federal grant, and aims to raise 100000 by mid April to avert closure. Health story notes rising need with families, including a 66 year old retiree and a 29 year old with a newborn. The effort served 1215 people, 420 children, in February.
