Mrs Taft traveled through a heavy snowstorm to attend a Lawrence strike committee hearing. Commissioner Lynch said city authorities tried to settle the dispute. He claimed police were ordered to jail children with parental consent only. Captain Sullivan described strikers blocking trolleys, stoning passengers, and an officer being stabbed.
