Topeka March 6 The Kansas House adopted a renolation to shut out all new bills after today effectively killing the apportionment measure. The stock yards bill, sent from the Senate, was read a first time and referred to the livestock committee as party managers push to pass a tax bill this session.
The Coal Strike Commission is said to have prepared a report for the president within a week. It recommends small wage increases for miners and regular pay by unit rather than by car or yard, while docking practices may persist. The commission’s finding may ease tensions but draw coal companies’ condemnation. A separate dispatch notes the illness of W. Bauths Cock rap ia with pneumonia and a critical condition weeks ago.

Secretary Moody announces five battleships to be named Vermont Kansas Minnesota and Mississippi Idaho under the new naval law. He notes plans to discuss further ship names in his next annual report and to seek congressional approval for preserving historic ship names like Cumberland Merrimack and Constitution.
